A young practice, inspired by environments that surround us and those that lie beyond. We seek to learn from the native built and unbuilt, drawing from the roots of each region, its landscapes, its architecture, its people and its stories, while embracing the contemporary palette of our time. We innovate, experiment, travel endlessly, explore, research, plant, and grow, always in pursuit of creating spaces that are thoughtful, layered, and deeply connected to their context. Every project becomes an opportunity to discover, to learn, and to craft environments that leave a meaningful and lasting impact. Rather than adhering to a singular approach, our practice evolves organically, shaping both the built and the unbuilt in response to each unique place, allowing every space to find its own identity and narrative.

The principal architect, Siddharth Jain, is an architect with a specialization in landscape architecture. He leads the practice with a deep interest in the relationship between the built and the unbuilt, while balancing design, teaching, and an endless pursuit of exploration through travel. His experiences across places, landscapes, and cultures continually shape the philosophy and evolving language of the studio.

The practice is deeply rooted in narrative, where every project begins with an idea and a story waiting to unfold. The process starts with a series of sketches and explorations, gradually evolving through layers of detailing and rigorous thought. Through constant questioning, refinement, and careful crafting, each project slowly comes to life as a space that is thoughtful, contextual, and deeply meaningful.

I spent six months in Auroville, working with Ar. Dharmesh Jadeja, followed by two years in Ahmedabad with Ar. Aniket Bhagwat. These experiences allowed me to understand and appreciate the delicate balance between vernacular traditions, architecture, and landscape, and I can gladly say that they have had a lasting influence on the way I approach design.

More than landscape design, I learnt about forests, complex landscape systems, forest communities, and planting. It taught me a more wholesome approach to design, one that understands and responds to the larger interconnected systems of a place.

Andnative
A practice close to my heart. The name “And Native” came to me while strolling through the Himalayas. It carries a simple narrative: alongside whatever the client seeks, there will always be a character that brings the design back to its roots.
We are everything and native. Anything and native.
